End Users are your target audience who ultimately recieve your promotional gift or incentive.
Knowing your End User or target audience is a must and will actually help define the right product for your needs. If your looking to present your comapny at a trade show for instance, think about who might recieve your personalised gifts.
For example; At a Trade Show for Engineers you already know that most of the visitors will be engineers. Offer something that will appeal specifically to this client base - one company in such a situation gave away balsa-wood gliders. They were a big hit since the engineering of the glider appealed to the target audience. 6 months after the show the company was still receiving calls from the trade show and to "bring another glider...?"
Thinking outside the box a little meant that this company were well received and appreciated that day (and for some time after) more so than they would if they just handed out a regular pen with their logo on it.
